Begun in the fall of 2014, Camp Magis is the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston’s program for all seventh graders in West Virginia Catholic schools. For approximately seven weeks throughout the fall, seventh graders and their chaperones come to the Mary Help of Christians Pastoral Center for three days to learn about their faith and encounter Christ through high-adventure activities, prayer, fellowship, and liturgy.
Camp Magis runs from late Wednesday morning to early Friday afternoon. Each session of Camp Magis will host up to 65 students, often from multiple schools. Schools must bring one chaperone for every eight students (chaperone numbers must follow the gender breakdown of the group), and at least one chaperone must be school staff. ![]()
